The Department of Lands, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Development – Tana RiverCounty in collaboration with the National Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (NAVCDP) is pleased to announce to the public the recruitment of Agricultural ValueChainActors (Supervisors & Agri-preneurs) at the County Level for a period of one (1) monthon a temporary basis.

CRITERIA FOR SUPERVISORS’ SELECTION

Requirement for Appointment of:

1. Assistant Ward-Based Supervisors – Six (6) Positions

For appointment as an Assistant Ward-Based Supervisors, a candidate must:

  • Minimum academic qualification of a Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution preferably in Agricultural Sciences, Statistics, Community Development or any other related discipline.
  • Must be computer literate and able to use a tablet.
  • Must be able to communicate in Kiswahili/English the ability to converse in the Local Dialect will be an added advantage.
  • The assistant supervisors will also be identified from county government staff and should preferably be Frontline/field service providers.
  • Should be currently working in the target ward.
  • Participation in similar exercises involving data collection will be an added advantage
  • Expected to assist the ward-based supervisor in providing oversight.

2. Ward-Based Supervisors – Fifteen (15) Positions

For appointment as a Ward-Based Supervisors, a candidate must:

  • Minimum academic qualification of a Degree from a recognized University preferably in Agricultural Sciences, Statistics, Social Sciences, Community Development and any other related disciplines.
  • Must be computer literate and able to use a tablet.
  • Must be able to communicate in Kiswahili, English, and Local Dialect.
  • The supervisors will also be identified from county government staff. Consideration will be given to the civil servants in the county.
  • Should be currently work the Ward that He/ She will be supervising.
  • Participation in similar exercises. Experience on extension and data collection will be an added advantage.

3. Senior Supervisors – Three (3) Positions

For appointment as a Senior Supervisor, a candidate must:

  • Minimum academic qualification of a Degree from a recognized University preferably in Agricultural Sciences, Statistics, Social Sciences, Community Development and any other related disciplines
  • Must be computer literate and able to use a tablet
  • Must be able to communicate in Kiswahili, and English.
  • The supervisors will also be identified from county government staff. Consideration will be given to the civil servants in the county.
  • Senior County officers and subject matter specialists at Sub-county or County level;
  • Experience on personnel management, supervision, extension and data collection advantage
  • Participation in similar exercises will be an added advantage.

Note: (1) Assistant Ward-based Supervisors: Supervise Agri-preneurs during baseline/routine data collection); (2) Ward-based Supervisors: Supervise and backstop Assistant Ward-based supervisors during baseline/routine data collection (3) Senior Supervisors: Supervise and backstop Ward-based supervisors during the baseline/routine data collection.

CRITERIA FOR AGRI-PRENEUR SELECTION

4. Agri-preneurs/Enumerators – One Hundred and Sixty Six (166) Positions

Requirement for Appointment of:

  • Must be between 20 – 45 years of Age with a national ID
  • Must be an active resident of the ward in which the profiling exercise is being undertaken
  • Minimum academic qualification of a post-secondary qualifications from a recognized institution, preferably in Agricultural Sciences, Agribusiness, Statistics, Social Sciences, Community Development & related disciplines
  • Demonstrate some experience in agriculture or agribusiness & interactions with farmers.
  • Must own a smart phone & be computer literate.
  • Must be able to communicate in Kiswahili, English & the local dialect in their locality.
  • Ability & willingness to remain personally involved & committed on full time basis.
  • Strong past experience in community mobilization & training farmers on agricultural value chains.

The applications should be hand delivered between 8.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m. to the CECM’soffice, Lands Office next to Equity Afia Hospital and received latest by 5.00 p.m. on Thursday 31st August, 2023.

All applicants must indicate the position for which they are applying, the Ward Name and/or Sub-County on the left corner of the envelope.

The application should include; an application letter, copies of academic certificates, and a copy of the national identification Card. Those applying for the Supervisors position should attach also their CV.
