  • The application fee is $30.
  • Online applications: check or credit card
  • You can also pay your application fee in person at the Bursar’s Office located in Building D, Room 101 with cash, check, or credit card.

How To Get NEIU University Application Fee Waiver Code

In order to receive an application fee waiver code, please send to tsteps@neiu.edu a copy of one of the following:

  • Fee waiver request form from your community college (see your academic advisor or counselor):
  • Proof of unemployment
  • FAFSA student aid report where expected family contribution (EFC) = 0
  • Department of Human Services or public aid paperwork.

How/where to send your transcripts

Transcripts can be sent electronically to Northeastern Illinois University by following the steps below;

  • Go to the website of your previous school(s) and find the transcript request section. It is true that most schools send directly to Northeastern Illinois University as a selection option. If an email address is needed, please use admissiondocs@neiu.edu.
  • Mail your transcripts to Northeastern Illinois University, Enrollment Services, 5500 North St. Louis Avenue, Chicago, IL 60625

To use the fee waiver, please go to the Application Information Tab and input the waiver in the Admissions Office Communication Field.

Admission Requirements For International Students

1. Submit a completed online application on the university’s website.

2. A non-refundable USD 30 application fee.

3. Official copies of all Academic records including High school and other institutions. These copies must be evaluated by credential evaluation-approved organizations like ECE or WES.

4. English language proficiency test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, or other accepted tests).

5. Standardized Test scores for Undergraduate Students-

  • SAT- The average test score that the university requires you to have is to be between 910 to 1050
  • ACT- The average test score that the university requires you to have is to be 18
  • GMAT/GRE scores for graduates according to the programs. Any other program

6. A financial statement with original supporting documents from a reputed financial institution confirming that the applicant has sufficient funds to cover tuition, boarding, lodging, transportation, books and supplies, and other miscellaneous expenses to cover the period of study at the university.
