- Visit the SRD website, https://srd.sassa.gov.za/
- Scroll down to “Request Names and Surname Update”.
- Enter your ID number, name and surname exactly as it appears in your SA ID document or card.
NOTE: Your names and surname will only be updated if it matches your details on the Department of Home Affairs database.
If the application is still denied after correction of the personal details, applicants may request for reconsideration within 30 days of receiving the declined reason.
Request for reconsideration may take place via the SRD website under the “Application for Reconsideration” tab or contact the SASSA toll-free call centre.
