How To Join The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS)
Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) is a Primary national intelligence agency in Canada that is concerned with collecting, analysing, reporting and propagating intelligence on threats to Canada’s national security and seeking means to create shelter for the country and beyond.
The agency also scouts for and educates the minister of public safety on issues pertaining to the nation’s security. CSIS has it’s headquarter in Ottawa, Ontario, a facility which was completed in 1995.

CSIS is at the forefront of Canada’s national security system. Our role is to investigate activities suspected of constituting threats to the security of Canada and to report on these to the Government of Canada. We may also take measures to reduce threats to the security of Canada in accordance with well-defined legal requirements and Ministerial Direction.
How To Join The CSIS
To be eligible to apply or join the CSIS you need to;
- Be a Canadian citizen
- Have 10 years of verifiable information
- Have a valid permanent Canadian driver’s license (certain positions)
- Agree to relocate anywhere across Canada (Intelligence Officer only)
The selection can be rigorous, thus, it could take a period of 12months to complete but here are the documents and tests that will be used in assessment;

- Competency Based Interview
- Suitability Interview
- Written Task and Second Language Testing
- Psychological Assessment
- Security Clearance
- Polygraph
