List of Universities & Courses That Accepts D7, E8, or F9 In Chemistry

Every student always believes in a good grade, but what happens when you can’t meet up to the result you wanted? At this point, your plans and ambition is been shattered. In this article, you will be given detailed information, on the universities and courses you can study with your D7, E8, or F9 results.

Is a Credit in Chemistry Compulsory for Admission?

The answer is YES and NO.

It depends on schools and courses being proposed

Schools and Courses that Waive Credit in Chemistry

1. Physics

  • University of Calabar (UNICAL) requires O’level credit passes in Biology/Chemistry, Physics, English Language and Mathematics, candidates with O’level pass in the English Language may be allowed to remedy the deficiency during the first year of study by taking and passing the UNICAL Remedial English. It also accepts an O’level pass (D7 or E8) in Chemistry/ Biology /Mathematics.

2. Computer Information and Communication Studies

  • Abia State University (ABSU) for Architecture requires five (5) O level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, any three (3) Fine Art, Geography or Wood Work, Biology, Economics, Technical Drawing, Add Mathematics and Chemistry. An O’level credit pass in Chemistry is not compulsory.

3. Geography

  • Federal University, Lokoja (FULOKOJA) requires five (5) O level passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any two (2) from Social Sciences or science. Hence, no need for Chemi

4. Industrial Mathematics

  • Adekunle Ajasin University (AAUA) requires O’level pass (i.e D7 or E8) in Chemistry.

5. Mathematics

  • Adekunle Ajasin University (AAUA) and Ekiti State University (EKSU) require O’level pass in Chemistry
  • Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) accepts Economics in lieu of Physics/Chemistry. Hence if you have an F9 in Chemistry but have Economics, you are good for Mathematics in school.

6. Software Engineering

  • American University of Nigeria (AUN) requires five (5) O Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, and any other three (3) subjects from the following with emphasis on the ranking order: Physics; Chemistry, Further Mathematics, Computer Studies, Information Technology, Environmental Science, Biology, Literature in English, Government, History, Economics, Geography, Technical Drawing, Visual Arts, Civics, and French. It does not accept credit passes in the following; Agriculture, Food and Nutrition, Home Economics, Home Craft, Home management, Physical Education, Physical and Health Education, Music, Commerce, Accounting, Financial Accounting, Bookkeeping, Islamic History, Islamic Studies, Tajweed, Library Studies, Diction, Kiswahili, Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, Arabic, Turkish, Study skills.

7. Architecture

  • Abia State University (ABSU) requires five (5) O’Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, any three (3) Fine Art, Geography or Wood Work, Biology, Economics, Technical Drawing, Add Mathematics and Chemistry. An O’level credit pass in Chemistry is not compulsory.
  • Ambrose Alli University (AAU): Chemistry not compulsory. In other words, the university accepts D7, E8 or F9 in Chemistry.

8. Urban and Regional Planning

  • Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) requires five (5) O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any other two (2) from Economics, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts, Chemistry and Biology.
  • BELLS University requires five (5) O Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any two (2) from Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Technical Drawing.
  • Bauchi State University (BSU) requires five (5) O Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any three (3) of Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Government, Biology, Art, History, IS/CRS, Social Studies, Technical Drawing and Geography.
  • Federal University of Technology (FUTA) requires five (5) SSCE credit passes or its equivalent at a maximum of two (2) sittings in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any two subjects from Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Science, Economics, Technical Drawing. At least a pass in Physics is required.
  • University of Lagos (UNILAG) requires O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any two (2) of Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, and Fine Arts/Technical Drawing.
  • MAUTY requires five (5) O level credit passes in Geography, and any two (2) from Economics, Technical Drawing, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Fine Art or Visual Arts.
  • FUTMINNA and ABSU require five (5) O Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any two (2) subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Fine Arts, Technical Drawing, Economics and Government.
  • OAU requires English Language, Mathematics, Geography, Economics and any other from Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts/Government.
  • RENAISSANCE requires five (5) O Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Geography/Technical Drawing at not more than two (2) sittings.
  • Osun State University (UNIOSUN) requires English, Maths, Geography. UNIOSUN requires the other two (2) subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts, Economics, Biology and Surveying.
  • University of Nigeria (UNN) requires (5) O’Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, and any other three (3) subjects from Economics, Government, Fine Arts, Technical Drawing, Physics, Chemistry, Agric Science, and Biology.
  • RSUST five (5) O Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any other two (2) subjects from Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Fine Art, Technical Drawing and Government.

9. Zoology

  • Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) requires Physics or Chemistry. In other words, you can be offered admission if you have one of Chemistry or Physics but not necessarily the two.
  • Edo University, Iyamho (EUI) requires five (5) credit passes at SSC or its equivalent in English Language, Mathematics, Biology and two (2) other Science subjects.

10. Biology Education

  • DELSU accepts SSCE ‘O’ Level with credit passes in at least five (5) subjects which must include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry/Geography and Biology.
  • EBSU accepts five (5) SSC credit passes to include Mathematics, English Language and three (3) other science subjects. But I advise you should have Biology.
