St. Francis Community Hospital is a Faith Based Hospital which was officially opened in January 24, 2009. It is located along Kasarani-Mwiki Road, Nairobi. It is neat, efficient, affordable and patient-friendly. It is run by the Little Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi under the Archdiocese of Nairobi. The hospital has partnered with many organizations in promoting effective and efficient quality health care services.

We are recruiting to fill the positions below:

Job Title: Driver

Employment Type: Full Time

Qualification: KCSE

Location: Nairobi

Job Field: Driving

Reporting to the Hospital Administrator, the successful candidate will be required to:

Responsibilities/Duties

  1. Ensure that the allocated vehicle has all the accessories required – Tool kit, spare wheel, wheel spanner, jack, towing rope, jumper, and work
  2. Ensure that before using the vehicle quick check is done to determine the general condition, engine status and light
  3. Take care while driving the hospital vehicle; ensure that you hand over the vehicle to the on-coming user driver and handing over report documented.
  4. Ensure that the vehicle is regularly checked for any defect and serviced at the appropriate
  5. The driver shall only attend to authorized trips by Administrator and/or in his absence the SNO, Account Manager, doctor or CO on night
  6. Ensure that any to trip to be made, vehicle work ticket must be signed by authorized person and filled appropriately and all the information required entered.
  7. While on night duty when there is no driving work, you will be required to assist in the hospital
  8. The driver shall be fully responsible for the cleanliness of the vehicle he is driving and shall undertake minor repairs of the vehicle when need
  9. Shall be briefing and updating the HoD of the general condition of the vehicle, date for vehicle service as Any incidences must be reported promptly.
  10. Ready to be re-allocated in times of need to another department/ward and undertake any other assignment given by the Administrator/CEO.
  11. Observe road safety and traffic rules as per the Traffic Act.

Job Title: Resident Anesthesiologist

Employment Type: Full Time

Qualification: BA/BSc/HND

Reporting to the Medical Superintendent, the successful candidate will be responsible for efficient delivery of anesthesiology services to patients, mentoring medical officers, junior doctors/Interns, Clinical Officer Anesthetist and assisting with critical patients in the ICU/HDU among others.

Responsibilities

  1. Ensuring all anaesthetic medical activities (pre-anaesthesia evaluation, administration of anaesthesia, recovery period, equipment, general organization, etc.) is done in accordance to protocols and universal hygiene
  2. Ensuring quality of pre, during and post-operative care of patients is maintained by assisting the doctors in evaluating the risks of operating in collaboration with the surgeon, checking that patients authorize their operations in writing, providing them with appropriate information on their illness and treatments, and deciding on what type of anaesthetics to be used before
  3. Ensuring that anaesthesia checklist is followed before all operations as per protocol and guidelines (oxygen level, presence of emergency material, intubation equipment, )
  4. Evaluating the risks of operating in collaboration with the Surgeon/Doctor.
  5. Carrying-out all anaesthetics related activities during surgery in accordance to the procedures set before-hand (by the doctor (if any)), in order to ensure patient is adequately anaesthetized and safe during the
  6. Preparing beforehand the drugs, material, and equipment
  7. Administering and maintaining anaesthetics following the rules of hygiene and asepsis in place.
  8. Monitoring patients throughout the whole
  9. Supporting the medical officers/Doctors to prepare, circulate health related reports and conduct CME’s.

Requirements, Qualifications and Skills

  1. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent degree from a recognized University with a Postgraduate qualification (Master of Medicine) in
  2. Special recognition from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board in Anesthesia is an added
  3. Post qualification experience in the specialty in a reputable institution of more than two
  4. Certification in BLS or ACLS will be an added

Job Title: Resident Physiotherapist

Responsibilities

  1. Planning and conduct therapy treatment for
  2. Conduct in-depth evaluation of patients referred for therapy treatment for both inpatient and outpatient
  3. Initiate appropriate physiotherapy intervention programs for patients or clients suffering from
  4. Assess and evaluate physical disabilities caused by neurological disorders, stroke, diseases or injuries.
  5. Bring wellness and mobility in physical disabilities caused by injuries, stroke, or other neurological disorders through physiotherapy treatment programs and treat patients with disabilities in home and community care.
  6. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide patient care and
  7. Maintain and update patient records and
  8. Provide quality physiotherapist treatment to the highest possible
  9. Consult and collaborate with consulting physicians and other medical professionals in providing physiotherapy

Requirements, Qualifications and Skills

  1. Degree in Physiotherapy or Diploma in Physiotherapy or equivalent from a recognized
  2. BLS qualification from an accredited AHA accredited Training

  4. Registration with the Kenya Society of Physiotherapists (KSP).

Job Title: Ophthalmic Clinical Officer

Reporting to the Medical Superintendent, the successful candidates will be expected to do diagnose, examine and manage eye patients. Her/his job is also to strengthen provision of primary Health Care activities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide consultations at the eye clinic
  2. Diagnose, manage and refer cataract cases appropriately
  3. Increase community awareness to participation in eye care especially cataract identification and referral
  4. Perform cataract surgeries and refer complicated cases appropriately
  5. Take part in planning and participating in eye camps
  6. Ensure that all assessments and treatment provided are properly documented on patients files

Reporting to the Medical Superintendent, the successful candidates will be expected to do diagnose, examine and manage dental patients. Her/his job is also to strengthen provision of primary Health Care activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Managing patients with dental conditions by diagnosing, investigating, treating and documenting;
  2. Admitting patients and undertaking minor oral and maxillofacial surgery; prosthetics, orthodontics, peadodonticts, restorative, periontodology and conservative dentistry;
  3. Carrying out dental examinations, age assessment and writing dental reports;
  4. Organizing and Participating in community sensitization and outreach programs on dental health care;
  5. Meeting with patients to discuss and treat dental concerns, performing regular cleanings and preventative procedures, establish a plan for better dental
  6. Performing dental procedures, such as extractions, root canals, and filling
  7. Prescribing medications as needed and providing the appropriate follow up curative
  8. Giving clients sedatives or anesthesia prior to administering
