The Nuclear Power and Energy Agency is a State Corporation established under the Energy Act 2019. It is charged with the responsibility of promoting and implementing Kenya’s Nuclear Power Programme, carrying out research and development for the energy sector.
We are recruiting to fill the positions below:
Job Title: Public Relations / Communications Officer
Employment Type: Full Time

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the jobholder will be responsible for creating and raising public awareness on nuclear energy by way of demystifying myths associated with the applications of nuclear technology to build public confidence and earn its support for implementation of nuclear power in Kenya by:
- Preparing and supervising the production of publicity brochures, handouts, direct mail leaflets, promotional videos, photographs, films and multimedia programmes to create awareness amongst stakeholders on nuclear energy development in Kenya;
- Updating and moderating information and engaging with users on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook on nuclear technology;
- Implementing community management programs;
- Liaising with community stakeholders;
- Analyzing community complaints and carrying out surveys;
- Conducting community research findings on Nuclear perceptions;
- Conducting stakeholder’s engagement surveys/ opinion polls on Kenya’s Nuclear Power Programme;
- Implementing stakeholder engagement policies, plans and programmes for Kenya’s nuclear programme that include stakeholder identification, mapping and categorization;
- Managing of Knowledge Sharing Centre’s (KSCs) to share the relevant information for the knowledge of the public to accept the local use of nuclear;
- Coordinating of media events, press briefings conferences and follow on any media issues of interest to the organization at the Regional Office;
- Implementing corporate communication and media strategies, plans and programs to support achievement of corporate objectives;
- Producing in-house journals, newsletters, corporate and other related publications in promotion of Agency Brand at the Regional Office;
- Implementing all stakeholder education outreach programs and activities by ensuring all Agency’s events are well organized, branded and ensure photo and video coverage and proper documentation of events at the Regional Office;
- Implementing Agency’s CSR strategy, plans and programs; and
- Translating technical nuclear information to messages that can be understood and actioned by ordinary citizens.
- In the execution of this assignment, the Public Relations/ Communication Officer will be expected to ensure and uphold exemplary corporate Governance in line with the organization’s core values and promote a robust performance-driven culture.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
- Candidates must have the following qualifications: –
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or relevant qualifications from a recognized institution in Kenya.
- Relevant professional qualifications/ certification, PRSK/ MSK membership and be in good standing.
Related Job Experience
Must have at least three (3) years relevant work experience.

- Demonstrable knowledge of the Energy Sector in Kenya.

Job Title: Assistant Administration Officer

Reporting administratively to the Regional Manager and functionally to the Senior Administration Officer, the job holder will be responsible for assisting with the management and implementation of administration services in the areas of cleaning, security, facility management, mail and telephone services, transport, travel and welfare activities by:
- Complying with administrative services policies and procedures;
- Assisting in coordinating cleaning services in the Regional office;
- Assisting in management of office space and building;
- Assisting in maintaining the regional office asset register;
- Assisting in coordinating insurance cover for assets;
- Coordinating asset repairs and maintenance for the regional office;
- Coordinating regional office security services;
- Coordinating mail, internet and telephone services including management of the switchboard; and
- Facilitating meetings, conferences and other hospitality services.
In the execution of this assignment, the Assistant Administration Officer will be expected to ensure and uphold exemplary corporate Governance in line with the organization’s core values and promote a robust performance-driven culture.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
- Candidates must have the following qualifications: –
- Diploma in Office Administration, Records Management, Office Management or any related Diploma from recognized institution Kenya.
- Certificate in computer applications.
Related Job Experience
Must have at least three (3) years relevant work experience.

Reporting administratively to the Regional Manager and functionally to the Senior Administration Officer, the job holder will be responsible for providing reliable and safe driving services and ensuring safety of Agency vehicles assigned by:
- Carrying out driving responsibilities and general maintenance of the vehicle assigned;
- Carrying out routine checks on the vehicle’s cooling, oil electrical and brake systems;
- Maintains work tickets for the vehicles assigned;
- Ensures safe transportation of the Agency personnel and/or goods as per instructions;
- Detects and reports malfunctioning of vehicles system;
- Monitors and reports vehicle service and insurance schedule;
- Ensures cleanliness of the vehicle;
- Reports incidents and accidents as soon as they occur as per Human Resource policy;
- Operates the Agency vehicle in a safe and effective manner in compliance with traffic rules and regulations;
- Ensures security and safety for the vehicle on and off the road;
- Maintains passenger confidence by keeping information strictly confidential.
- Collecting, sorting and delivery of mail and/or parcel to and from the post office and various offices on a regular basis;

Academic and Professional Qualifications
Candidates must have the following qualifications: –
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Mean Grade of D+ (Plus) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Valid driving license (Class B, C, E).
Related Job Experience
Must have at least four (4) years relevant work experience (Class B, C, E).

Job Title: Assistant Customer Service Officer (Receptionist)

Reporting administratively to the Regional Manager and functionally to the Senior Administration Officer, the job holder will be responsible for coordinating front-desk activities, including distributing correspondence and redirecting phone calls and operating the switchboard to answer, screen and forward calls, providing information, taking messages and scheduling appointments by:
- Providing front desk reception duties which include handling of all phone calls and managing internal and external customers timely and professionally;
- Providing customer information services by providing required information, corporate publications brochure’s and fliers;
- Receiving and directing customers comprising of visitors, suppliers, stakeholders and the general public;
- Maintaining office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk;
- Receiving all organization related mails and parcels that are hand delivered and forwarding them for action;
- Maintaining a log of official visitors by ensuring the visitor book is available and is kept up to date at all times;
- Undertaking clerical/ general office duties, including correspondence, emails, filing and photocopying; and
- Ensuring records and files are stored and retrieved efficiently.
In the execution of this assignment, the Assistant Customer Service Officer (Receptionist) will be expected to ensure and uphold exemplary corporate Governance in line with the organization’s core values and promote a robust performance-driven culture.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
Candidates must have the following qualifications: –
Diploma in Public Relations, Customer Care, Customer Service or any other relevant field from an institution recognized in Kenya;

- Meet the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya;
