About Nairobi Hospital School of Nursing
The Nairobi Hospital Cicely McDonnell School of Nursing, an initiative of the Kenya Hospital Association, has 60 years of experience in training nurses. The resources available in the School include well equipped lecture rooms, skills laboratory, computer skills laboratory and a library resource center equipped with modern books, internet services and other teaching and learning materials.
The management of the hospital has built an exemplary institution that continues to produce graduates who are professionally outstanding through education and practical training. The Kenya Registered Nursing training is a three (3) year course. At an affordable fee of Ksh.285, 000 annually, the student has a wide range of benefits such as:

1. BASIC DIPLOMA COURSE
A) Kenya Registered Nursing (KRN)
Mode and duration of study: Full-time; 3 years;
Minimum Entry Requirements: KCSE or equivalent
Examination:
- Mean Grade: C (plain)
- English/Kiswahili C (plain)
- Biology: C (plain)
- Any other science Mathematics/Chemistry/Physics): C – (Minus)
Intake: April & September each year Tuition Kshs 199,000 per year.
2. POST-BASIC COURSES OFFERED AND THEIR INTAKES
A) Kenya Registered Oncology Nursing (KRON) NEW COURSE!
Mode & duration of study: Full-time for 1 year April of each year
Admission Requirements;
A) To be eligible for admission into this course, the candidate should meet the following criteria:
- Must be a registered nurse (BScN, BN, KRN, or KRCHN) or equivalent from a state recognized by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Should have a minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience.
- A valid nursing practicing license.
- Any other relevant post-basic qualification is an added advantage
B) Applicants from non-Kenyan citizens:
- If the transcripts are in a language other than English, official translations must be provided.
- Such a candidate will be assessed for English language proficiency through oral interviews held via a medium that is convenient and reliable.
- Must be approved/cleared by the Nursing Council of Kenya to join a training program in Kenya

B) Kenya Registered Critical Care Nursing (KRCCN)
Mode and duration of study: Full-time; 1 year;
Minimum Entry Requirements:
- KRN/M, KRCHN or BscN
- 2 years working experience in a hospital
- Additional post basic qualifications will be an added advantage
- Valid practice license
Intake: April of every year
Tuition Fee: Kshs. 285,150
C) Kenya Registered Accident & Emergency Nursing (KRAEN)
Mode and duration of study: Full-time; 1 year;
Minimum Entry Requirements:
- KRN/M, KRCHN, or BScN
- 2 years working experience in a Hospital
- Additional post basic qualifications will be an added advantage
- Valid practice license
Intake: April of every year
Tuition Fee: Kshs. 252,500
D) Kenya Registered Peri-Operative Course
Mode and duration of study: Full-time; 1 year;
Minimum Entry Requirements:
- KRN/M, KRCHN, or BScN
- 2 years working experience in a Hospital
- Additional post basic qualifications will be an added advantage
- Valid practice license

E) Neonatal Critical Care Nursing (NCCN)
