The Opportunity
- The Lead, IT Support will report to the Head of IT Operations and will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating rapid resolution of incidents and timely response to service requests impacting business operations. He/She will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Technology Help Desk, and will also be responsible of End User Computing services procurement, provisioning and day to day operations and support. The role is responsible of managing IT assets and keeping the Technology assets register up to date in collaboration with all stakeholders.
- The successful candidate will be based in Canada or any of our listed offices in Africa (Rwanda, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana and Nigeria).
Ways You Can Contribute
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of a multi-site team ensuring Help Desk and End User Services SLAs are met, respond to key stakeholders in a concise and timely manner.
- Coordinate and/or perform hands-on fixes, patches and software updates at the desktop level, and as appropriate at the network level including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
- Actively monitor the Technology Assets Register including Software and Hardware Assets ensuring it reflects an accurate picture of the company assets at all times.
- Track and analyze latest trends in Help Desk & End Users Computing services like automation and remote provisioning.
- Actively seek to build relationships by taking the opportunity to build rapport and understand stakeholder needs, listen, identify, and provide advice to the team that adds value and creates solutions.
- Coordinate post go live support for Business Application projects ensuring new Applications Support Model integrates well with existing Help Desk services.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and administration of help desk suppliers and staff training procedures and policies
- Manage team workload, monitor progress and gains buy-in, contributes to the development of work plans and team goals.
- Seek solutions to drive a customer training programs to increase computer literacy and self-sufficiency .
- Oversee the development and dissemination of help sheets, usage guides, and FAQ lists for internal stakeholders for all key tools provided by Technology.
Who You Are
- 10+ years’ relevant experience within a global organization, including at least 3 years in a management role overseeing a broad help desk & end user computing services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related area.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach team members.
- Proven experience in managing suppliers and negotiating help desk contracts and end user computing hardware and services procurement.
- A solid understanding of the following Technologies but not limited to: Windows 10 and Office 365, SharePoint, Adobe, Videoconferencing tools, Yammer and other Microsoft Digital Workplace tools, WAN/LAN/Wi-Fi, VOIP, Core Networking, Cloud Services, printing services, SurfacePro line of products, inTune, SCCM or equivalent products and tools.
- Knowledge of ITSM standards and tools and experience using an ITSM tool to drive service delivery and performance especially in Service / Help Desk context.
- Knowledge of and experience in applying ITIL principles and standards to improve incident resolution and customer service standards especially in Service / Help Desk context.

Job Title: Enterprise Applications Architect

The Opportunity
- The Enterprise Applications Architect will report to the Head of Enterprise Applications and will be responsible for reviewing the current technical architecture of the foundation.
- The architect will research new trends in technology to implement the latest programs to support business strategy. They may even establish working relationships with vendors to purchase new software at a better price. Importantly, they should ensure their design fits established architectural standards. They will be an extension of the current Enterprise Applications team by assisting and taking on tasks to deliver on requests from users.
- The successful candidate will be based in Canada or any of our listed offices in Africa (Rwanda, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana and Nigeria).
Ways You Can Contribute
- User Demand – Request for use of an application that is not yet sanctioned within the Foundation.
- Document a process for the requests of use of applications not sanctioned in the Foundation as well as a workflow/form.
- Research the need for the requested application and whether an existing application meets the need.
- Research existing applications in the market that meet the user need for the requested application.
- Identify the top 2 or 3 (prioritised).
- Document the findings and the recommendations.
- Request the internal Cybersecurity team to perform a Security Assessment on the applications – and concatenate these assessments as part of the larger document.
- Facilitating the onboarding of the application (if and/or once selected) by reaching out to the vendor/s of the selected application regarding licenses and quotations thereof.
- Incorporate the applications prioritized into the Foundations Application Catalogue.
- Required to adhere to all Foundation Processes and Policies.
- May be required, at times, to assist with adhoc documentation and/or presentations compilation directly linked to these projects.
- Document and help build-out additional processes that may be identified and needed.
- Required to raise tickets on the company ticketing system, review tickets as well as respond and/or action accordingly.
- Will be required to work with people on the African continent as well as with individuals based in Canada.
- Constant verbal and written feedback and progress on tasks is required weekly.
Who You Are
- 5 years’ relevant experience within a global organization, in a similar role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related area.
- Knowledge of and experience in integrating applications and consumption of API’s
- Is comfortable with developing own API and consuming existing application API (e.g., RESTful API)
- Required to integrate the Mastercard Foundation SaaS utilised applications into BetterCloud (Software as a Service Management tool) – Will work closely with the vendor for support and assistance.

The Opportunity
- The Business Intelligence unit at The Foundation is one the main units under The Strategic Operations Function. The Business Intelligence unit comprises of the following sub-units: Data Governance, Advanced Analytics and Business Intelligence Operations & Business Partnering.
- This position offers the possibility to enter a dynamic team, and the right candidate will be able to influence how Mastercard Foundation improves data-driven decision-making for the benefit of our immediate and future goals.
- The Business Intelligence Operations Lead will support The Foundation’s Business Intelligence (BI) strategy, by working closely with various teams and key Functions within the Foundation, serving as the Analytics & Reporting Business Partner to Country Teams and other Enterprise functions; to understand, translate and recommend fit-for-purpose Business Intelligence & Analytics solutions to support decision making and enhance insights & efficiency.
- S/he will also work very closely with the Technology team to develop and maintain a tight-fit BI environment in line with business requirements.
- The job holder will be charged with enhancing the Foundation’s reporting requirements (including self-serve capabilities) and data analytics capabilities while developing use cases and solutions through business partnering and maintaining the organization’s overall “data literacy.”
- The successful candidate will be based in Canada or any of our listed offices in Africa (Rwanda, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana and Nigeria).

- Identify data analytics needs and use cases to drive evolution of Foundation’s overall analytics capabilities.
- Engage other teams (e.g., Programs, Impact, Finance, IT, Knowledge Management etc.) to support data analytics and reporting needs.
- Engage with stakeholders in order to understand their business processes, imperatives, constraints and priorities, and design appropriate BI solutions to help in achieving their goals.
- Close business partnering with regional/country and functional teams to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities.
- Lead a team of data analysts to build BI applications, by working backwards from regional/country and functional analytics needs.
- Create self-service capabilities for reporting and collaborating with Functions; setting reporting standards.
- Build data pipelines and data models that will generate data visualizations to meet business needs.
- Engage teams to derive insights from data by carrying out drilldowns, statistical analyses, data modelling and application of advanced analytics where applicable, and data visualization.
- Champion the best tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization’s raw data as insightful and actionable business information.
- Liaise with other functional areas (e.g., IT) to build technology and process infrastructure for data analytics & reporting.
- Establish and maintain reliable “single source of truth” for Foundation data’s infrastructure.
- Set and maintain standards for timeliness, responsiveness, accuracy and quality of delivery for BI deliverables.
- Supervise direct reports to maintain high performance, motivation, capability-building, and career progression for team members.
- Play an active leadership role on the Business Intelligence team, mentoring BI Analysts and constantly pushing the team to grow and evolve.
Who You Are
- 10+ years ‘experience in delivering Business Intelligence Solutions such as interactive reports, dashboards, and/or integrating modeling results and have strong Data Visualization design skills with at least 3 years of leading Business Intelligence Teams.
- At least 3 years of experience with ETL process and Enterprise Power BI development and administration.
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, MIS, Information Management, or any relevant field.
- Proven “business partnering” experience of engaging key stakeholders to understand their analytics needs and requirements while translating them into key BI products.
- Proven ability to apply “use case” approach to analytics delivery and be an advocate for the end-user.
- Advanced experience planning and delivering BI and statistical analyses with knowledge of most major platforms and languages, e.g., Azure, SQL, Python/R, PowerBI, ETL Tools & Techniques, Excel, Tableau etc (or equivalent).
- Experience with monitoring health and performance of entire Power BI platform.
- Knowledge of Data Warehouse best practices that enable self-service analytics.
- Ability to work with complex data (quantitative and qualitative) and understand how to transform disparate data to create new features, insights, and visualizations.
- Ability to translate business needs into technical and process requirements to deliver solutions.
- Comfort with self-direction, but balanced with ability to maintain meaningful visibility and engagement with managers (given geography and time zone).
- Detail orientation with rigorous attention to developing, implementing, and improving processes and procedures.
- Resilience and flexibility to manage through shifting priorities, parameters, and rapidly changing context.
- Possess excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to articulate information to a variety of constituents across cultures.
