Job Title: Nurse

Main Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the respective Unit Nurse In- Charge, the incumbent shall be tasked to provide high quality nursing care to patients while upholding City Eye Hospital’s standards of excellence in customer service.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Taking Visual Acuity and Intraocular Pressures of patients while entering accurate recordings of the same in the patient’s file.
- Taking vital signs and recording findings into the patient’s files.
- Assisting clinicians and doctors during patient examination, screening and eye procedures.
- Scrubbing and circulating for various surgical cases in the eye theatre.
- Taking care of patients in the wards.
- Performing Eye Examination scans on the patients i.e. OCT, Visual Field, Corneal Topography, biometry and fundus photo.
- Offering pre-operative, intra-operative and post- operative care.
- Stocking exam, procedure and theatre rooms with prerequisite supplies and equipment.
- Eye irrigation, swabbing and applying eye pads.
- Cleaning and sterilizing medical instruments and tools before and after use.
- Administering and dispensing prescribed treatment to patients.
- Patients education and booking patients for various procedures
- Examine and triage eye patients, recording findings and suggested treatment in the main hospital, it branches or during outreach medical camps.
- Preparing and submitting accurate/ timely management reports
- Take part in company projects and carry out any other tasks that may be assigned to them by their Line
- Manager and/ or any other person placed in authority over them.
Knowledge and Experience Required
- Valid nursing council of Kenya license
- KRCHN/ KRN certificate from a recognized institution
- Higher diploma in ophthalmic nursing will be an added advantage
- Certificate of BLS will be an added advantage
- At least 2 years working experience in a busy hospital/clinic Environment
- Eye hospital working experience will be an added advantage

Main Purpose of the Role
To provide Human Resources and Administration support in the relating functions while ensuring adherence to the laid-out policies and procedures within the department, company and prevailing labor laws.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Engage and assist in handling inquiries regarding company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees
- Open and maintain departmental files and ensure records are updated regularly and as required.
- Manage the staff database including regularly updating staff details, addition of new employees, updating monthly and daily locum staff and recording exiting employees.
- Leave management; including daily processing of leave applications, sending monthly and quarterly updates, and recording new enrolments.
- Bio-metric system management; including enrolment of staff and cancellation, processing/downloading reports and weekly updates ensuring employee attendance is managed in line with company policy
- Ensure the daily operations of the HR department are conducted in accordance to department guidelines and that the operations are completed on time and are of high quality.

Main Purpose of the Role
This is an initial one-year apprenticeship program, whereby the successful applicants for the program are taken through intense theoretical and practical on-the-job training aimed at equipping them with skills required by Ophthalmic Assistants. Once successful in the training, the trainee shall then be redeployed in the patient service centers in any of our facilities to provide assistance to our clinical and patient care teams.
Knowledge and Experience Required
- KCSE certificate attained not later than 2019, with a minimum grade of D+.
- Computer literacy
- Previous work experience in a hospital shall be an added advantage.

- Good communication and Customer Care Skills.
